Northern Colorado Regional Crime Lab Groundbreaking

More than 65 people gathered Wednesday morning in west Greeley for the official groundbreaking of the Northern Colorado Regional Crime Lab. Representatives from the five participating agencies were joined by the public to celebrate a milestone in a project more than five years in the making.

“This is an exciting day for law enforcement in Northern Colorado,” said Weld County Commissioner Chairman Sean Conway. “And it is an exciting day for the residents of Weld and Larimer Counties.

Mobile telephone users are receiving text messages stating they have won a $1,000 Target Gift Card. This is a scam. Target Corporation does not engage in this type of activity.

The 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office wants to warn consumers that during times of disaster, charity fraud increases and to be wary of giving to fraudulent fundraisers. Firefighter impersonator faces charges in Jeffco

Michael Maher (dob 092481), the man accused of impersonating a firefighter at the High Park Fire in Larimer County, is now accused of similar crimes in Jefferson County.

Jefferson County DUI checkpoint on Saturday

On Saturday, May 26, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a DUI checkpoint from approximately 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the Evergreen area.

Lakewood Police to Conduct DUI Checkpoint

On Friday May 25, 2012, the Lakewood Police Department, with the assistance of Colorado State Patrol and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD), will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in the City of Lakewood. Statistics indicate that a number of DUI arrests in Lakewood occur in the general vicinity of this location. There have also been serious traffic accidents that were alcohol related in this general area.
