CO education officials move forward with waiver of No Child Left Behind law, join other states

 The Colorado Board of Education is joining other states seeking waivers from parts of the federal No Child Left Behind law.

Education officials decided Wednesday they will proceed with an application to the U.S. Department of Education asking to opt out of some of the requirements of the widely criticized Bush-era law. Education Secretary Arne Duncan announced last month he would give states that option.
